Ernie Ball Unveils New Gear at NAMM 2026
NAMM 2026 is officially finished, and Ernie Ball is kicking things off in style with a lineup of exciting new products for guitarists and bassists alike. From artist signature strings to smart accessories and fresh strap designs, here’s what’s new from Ernie Ball this year.
Signature Strings: Papa Het & Slash (Single Sets)
Ernie Ball is expanding its signature string offerings with single-string sets from two of rock’s most iconic guitarists: James Hetfield and Slash. Papa Het’s Hardwired Master Core Signature Strings have been co-developed with Metallica’s James Hetfield over the past decade to meet his uncompromising performance demands. The set features James’ preferred 11–50 gauge, built with thicker Paradigm core wire for added durability, enhanced pitch stability, and a heavier overall sound. Plain strings include Paradigm core wire with brass RPS reinforcement at the ball end, ensuring extra strength and reliable tuning—even under aggressive playing conditions.
Also new are custom-wound Slash Signature Slinky Strings, now available in single sets. These strings are the result of more than 30 years of collaboration between Slash and Ernie Ball, focused on achieving superior durability and tuning stability without compromising tone or feel. The sets use Slash’s preferred 11–48 gauge, with Paradigm core wire, plasma-enhanced nickel-plated steel wrap wire, and reinforced brass ball ends on the plain strings for added strength.

Tapewound Bass Strings
Designed for bassists chasing a warm, smooth, and vintage-inspired tone, Ernie Ball Tapewound Bass Strings deliver a dark, mellow sound with a soft, silky feel. Constructed with tin-plated steel cores, nickel-plated steel windings, and polished black nylon tape, these strings are engineered to emulate the subtle character of an upright bass.
