Het is tijd voor verandering! Decennialang is er weinig veranderd aan het basisconcept van instrumentkabels: Een kern van koper aan de binnenkant, een mantel van PVC aan de buitenkant. Deze succesformule staat al heel lang garant voor robuuste en tegelijkertijd flexibele kabels.

Waar echter vaak geen rekening mee wordt gehouden: Door sommige additieven is een probleemloze recycling van PVC niet mogelijk! 

As a novelty in our more than 25-year company history, CORDIAL now relies on a completely new jacket material that completely dispenses with PVC! Sustainable and, most notably, at least of the same high quality as anything that has been used before.
Their alternative to PVC is named TPE-V. This is a blend of soft/elastic components that provide flexibility, softness and good windability, and firmer components that provide both notch resistance and a problem-free use at high service temperatures.

CORDIAL ECOHEMP CABLE

The complete fabric material of ECOHEMP cables consists of a braid of special hemp fibers in a matte mélange green/brown shade. For thousands of years this natural raw material has been used for the production of fabrics. For this purpose CORDIAL uses hemp from certified sustainable cultivation.

Om de soepelheid van de stofmantel te garanderen, werken de gebruikte machines tijdens het vlechten in de zogenaamde "procesmodus met lage snelheid", d.w.z. bijzonder langzaam, wat resulteert in een bijzonder elastische en resistente vlecht.

That's why CORDIAL commissioned a renowned independent textile research institute to put this product "through its paces".

What makes ECOHEMP so special?

Their cooperation with Trees for the Future (TREES)

The non-profit organization Trees for the Future (TREES), headquartered in Maryland/USA, advocates special concepts that have been tried and tested for decades to reforest woodlands and at the same time fight poverty in affected regions. 

CORDIAL is fully aware of the fact that certain components of an assembled cable still do not sufficiently meet the requirements of complete sustainability, especially with regards to the conductor made of copper as well as to the connectors. To compensate for these deficiencies at least to a certain extent, they have entered into a cooperation with the world-renowned non-profit organization Trees For The Future, under which a tree will be planted for every ECOCORD series cable sold.

Duurzame verpakking

What good is a sustainable product that lacks a sustainable packaging? So, consequently, their approach towards the sustainability of our ECOCORD / ECOHEMP products in as many areas as possible, logically also included the product tag properties. That's why they use recycled gray cardboard, which has a particularly good environmental balance and is FSC® Mix certified.

Volgens FSC® Duitsland bepaalt de FSC® Mix het gebruik van materialen uit FSC-gecertificeerde bossen en/of gerecycled materiaal en materiaal uit gecontroleerde bronnen in de productie. Ten minste 70% van het gebruikte materiaal moet FSC®-gecertificeerd of post-consumer gerecycled zijn of ten minste een gelijkwaardige hoeveelheid moet gebruikt worden in het productieproces van de gelabelde goederen. Dit wordt bevestigd door het FSC® Mix zegel op de ECOCORD / ECOHEMP labels.

The tag design
The design of the tags, which are used for all products in the ECOCORD series, features a matching uncoated paper / gray cardboard (2-color) and stands out well from other Cordial product tags.

On the back of the tag explanations regarding the product are summed up in a visually appealing way - so that you already know what it's all about when you buy the product.

Speciale Retro Stekkers van NEUTRIK®

Ook optisch onderscheiden de ECOCORD / ECOHEMP kabels zich duidelijk van conventionele instrumentkabels. Uiteraard moeten ook de bijpassende pluggen aan dezelfde normen voldoen. 

CORDIAL has taken a new creative approach and have, in cooperation with NEUTRIK®, designed special plugs in Shabby Chic design for this series:

De rechte en haakse NEUTRIK® 6,35 mm premium jackpluggen met "patina flair".

De jackpluggen, die speciaal zijn ontworpen voor ECOCORD / ECOHEMP kabels, zien er echt bijzonder uit en laten een blijvende indruk achter. Dit wordt gewaarborgd door de vrij unieke retrostijl, die doet denken aan de elegante patina op old-school metalen onderdelen.

Dit speciale uiterlijk in combinatie met hoogwaardige technologie is de formule voor succes: de "ECOHEMP-stekkers" presenteren een succesvol herontwerp van de bewezen NEUTRIK®-stekkers NP2X en NP2RX.

The ECOHEMP assembly cables are available equipped with the customary 6.35 mm jack variants "straight/straight" (ECOHEMP PP) and "straight/right angled" (ECOHEMP PR). 

In addition, CORDIAL also offers versions with straight NEUTRIK® silentPLUG® (ECOHEMP PP-SILENT) or right-angled NEUTRIK® silentPLUG® (ECOHEMP PR-SILENT) to avoid annoying amp crackling noise when plugging in and unplugging an instrument.
