Ashdown UK-OBM-C112-500 Wins Best of Show at NAMM 2026

Ashdown Engineering is proud to announce that the UK-OBM-C112-500 Bass Combo has been awarded Best of Show at the 2026 NAMM Show by Bass Gear Magazine.

As part of its official Best of Show Awards coverage, Bass Gear Magazine highlighted Ashdown’s renewed commitment to UK manufacturing and the impressive performance of its newly updated amplifier range. Among the refreshed lineup, the UK-OBM-C112-500 tilt-back combo stood out as a clear favourite. The UK-OBM-C112-500 was singled out as a “highly giggable combo,” particularly when used with an extension cabinet, delivering professional-level performance at a highly competitive price point.

UK-Built Power: UK-OBM-C112-500

Part of Ashdown’s Original Bass Magnifier (OBM) series, the UK-OBM-C112-500 is a UK-built 1x12” bass combo delivering up to 500 watts when paired with an extension cabinet—a substantial upgrade from the previous 300-watt version.

Bass Gear Magazine cited several key updates that contributed to the combo’s Best of Show recognition, including:

  • Return to UK manufacturing, with over 90% of production now based in the UK

  • New premium speaker drivers, supplied by SICA, alongside B&C and Ciare across the refreshed range

  • A more powerful Class-D amplifier, offering increased output, responsiveness, and dynamic feel

  • A tone described as clear, full, and musical, suitable for both live stages and compact performance spaces

  • A gig-ready design, featuring a tilt-back cabinet format and manageable weight

  • A bold new aesthetic with Ice Blue Tolex and Silver Weave grille cloth

A Strong Signal for Ashdown’s UK Revival

This Best of Show recognition reflects the overwhelmingly positive response from both players and reviewers to Ashdown’s renewed focus on UK manufacturing, upgraded components, and player-driven design.

Ashdown extends its thanks to Bass Gear Magazine for the award and to everyone who stopped by to experience the new range at NAMM 2026. Bringing production back to the UK is a milestone the brand is incredibly proud of—and one that continues to resonate with musicians worldwide.

Honourable Mention: UK-PBM-200 “Ant” Bass Head

In addition to the Best of Show award, Bass Gear Magazine also gave an honourable mention to the UK-PBM-200 “Ant” bass head. Compact yet powerful, it was praised for its solid physical build, impressive tonal performance, and outstanding value, reinforcing Ashdown’s strong UK-focused direction across the range.
