Another great round of Echoplex Delay videos!

Let's play a little game. What echo unit is famous for its deliciously warm, organic modulation and sweet musical voice? Can you guess it? The answer is of course: The Echoplex EP-3 tape echo unit. A key component to some of the most iconic guitar tones from the 1970's and onwards. Let's not forget that the original EP-3 units, however, are expensive, temperamental and larger than a VCR.

This is where the EP103 Echoplex Delay comes in:

Let's talk controls. The Delay control sets the time
between repeats, from 4 to 750ms. The Sustain control sets the number of
repeats, and the Volume control sets the output level of your repeats.

If you really want the sound of this pedal shine like a bright light, you'll need to go in Age mode. Not hard to do, as your pedal is perfectly calibrated by default, as a factory-fresh tape echo machine would. A quick push on the Volume knob lets you "age" the sound of your repeats, darkening the tone, upping the tape saturation and more. here the sound of this pedal really shines, though, is in Age mode.
